Temple Coverholder Gives Evidence to the Iraq Enquiry

01 February 2010

Geraldine McCool of McCool Patterson Hemsi has given evidence to the Iraq enquiry as a result of her previously acting for the families of many soliders who died in Iraq

She has acted for the widow of Sargeant Steven Roberts, the first soldier to die in Iraq, in March 2003. The inquest into his death in December 2006 was adjourned after the coroner gave permission for Geoff Hoon or an appropriate other person, to give evidence with regard to the late ordering of armour. The evidence was provided by a senior civil servant who referred to the tactical reasons why the armour had not been ordered earlier.

Geraldine has referred the inquiry to this recorded factual evidence which she believes is relevant to the issues before them and the appearance of Geoff Hoon before the inquiry.
